Nai Prakashan's award to the Third gender, Miss Manisha

 

Blue Diamond Society is pleased to share that Miss Manisha Bista, the transgender, and the founder member of the organization was awarded Nai Prakashan prize on 4th, February 2010 amidst renowned literary personalities and social workers in Nepal.  Manisha is very popular among LGBTI communities as congenial and supportive friend who is always ready for help to the community members at the time of woe. In the announcement of Nai Prakashan, it has been mentioned that, "Nai Ramlaxmi Award has been conferred to  Manisha Bista for her significant role in uniting sexual minorities in Nepal." The prize was handed over by the Prof. Dr. Ram Prasad Upreti.
This prize was awarded to Sunil Babu Pant, the first South Asian gay Member of Parliament and founder of Blue Diamond Society in 2009 AD for his profound role in establishing and promoting rights of LGBTI in Nepal.
